...First off, RedHat is one of the most dumby proof Distro's of linux so switching over from your windows will be easier then FreeBSD or College Linux (based on SW technology). Second off did you try the FAQ at redhat's webby. I'm almost positive they have it. Third and finally if you bought RH 7.2 you got ripped off. It is availible for free download everywhere. I have 3 versions of RH discs (8.0 7.3 and 7.2) that I've never used but their good to have when someone needs them. If you downloaded it the boot disc prog should be on there. There is another way to make it however. I just need to know one thing is W2K running at the moment?

use rawrite in the \dosutils directory to write an image (RH9= \images\bootdisk.img) This is likely explained in every and any document that go through the redhat install process.. but not often used anymore
if it gets me nowhere, I'll go there proud; and I'm gonna go there free.

Yes, those .img files are raw floppy images that cannot be simply copied.

Unless rawrite has changed since I last used it (.. redhat.. 4.3? ):

              ) start > run > command
) insert the blank, writable floppy disk
              ) cd [cd-drive]:\dosutils
              ) rawrite
<you should be prompted for image>
) enter the path to the bootdisk.img file, ie. [cd-drive]:\images\bootdisk.img
) enter your floppy disk device (likely a: )

You're certainly welcome, although as a word of advice, don't get too used to it.. the forum will eat you alive if you expect to be spoonfed these answers

Him being a new guy this will slide but I see no Blackwave in sight so google is you friend. If you want info about linux wrong forum. linuxquestions.com is the place for you. You will not be welcomed so lovingly later on with these questions. Life does not hand you answers to all your questions. You have to look first before you ask questions. If you don't others will let you know.

Actually, this is the 'Got Questions' forum, and technically that was a valid 'question', although a simple one. Let's try to keep the flaming to a reasonable rate and keep these technical forums, well.. more technical.

If you think that's a valid question then you got did a bad search on the net. Rawrite was listed thousands of times on the net telling you exactly what you told him. That's also excluding linuxquestions.com. I don't know how many times people post the exact same thing. Besides, people keep registering for these forums just because they think we will have better information than others ;)

                          hola

like i said its easier to read direct instruction ........than the instruction about telling me first what is Linux and then after 400 pages tell me how to do it ok ? ............nobody ask YOU to help ......who want's to help he will ......and as i am reading in this forum it's says "GOT QUESTION?" i did have a question and it was answerd tx to guys who answer it :):p
