Hello sort of new to this tring to learn as much as possible

i was wondering with all these peer to peer sharing programs i like dc user friendly but how safe is it can you get more that you share?

As in can a hacker get into your computer by using the help of a direct conect client?

If so is there away of stopping it ?

This is in the wrong forum, fool.

But to answere your question, yes, it is theoretically possible for "DC++" to have an exploit that'll allow an attacker to access your computer. I don't know much about the program, but it it allows files to be written to and read from your harddrive, then yes, it is entirely possible. Is it likely? hard to say, DC++ is an open source project so anyone could poke around in the code if they wanted to.

I'd be more worried about the RIAA than any "hackers" though, dude.
