I'm really not sure how a Palm Pilot would do that unless the garage door used infrared for control by a remote. Even then, you'd need to be very close to the receiver for it to work.

There was an old file on the BBSs where you could modify a garage door controller to cycle through all the combos (w/a 555 timer or something).
You just stuck your modified remote out while driving and eventually you would hit one.

oh ok well thats what i was talking about i meant if the grarge was on a ir frequency so i guess you would have to be pretty close i dont know thats just what i heard

You can make your Palm into a TV remote control, were you maybe thinking of that? Garage Door openers are tough enough while driving I'd hate to whip out a PDA!
