-=[ Things You Will Need ]=-

This list will for sure get bigger as we get closer to the contest (or atleast more detailed) so be sure to check back here often and check your registered email (if you signed up alredy that is :P) for updates.

1) A hub for your whole team.

Each registered team will get 1 connection to the hub, there for if you are going to have more than one system on the hub for the game then you need to provide a hub to connect them to the contest. the dhcpd will be setup to handle evrybody but you need space on the hub so be sure your hub or switch has an uplink port and not all the client ports are used.

2) A power strip

The plan is right now to have eather an exstension chord or some other form of power outlet at each table for any one team to use (this is the plan, its not reality yet!) meaning bring a serge so your team will have power, (I should note that brining a desktop to use in the contest is descuraged but not prohibited, just know that space may be a factor and we dont know as of yet how big our room is going to be).

quick questions....

Is this going to work like hack or halo did at Shmoocon?

When are some more advanced rules/ideas about the contest going to be posted?

I have some switches/boxen that I could loan out for this, so who is in charge of hardware?

in charge of hardware... Hmmm. Oh yeah me!
Also if any of you have batterie back ups that would be grand. it just takes one clumsy step by a pastie skin human to disrupt A/C power flow to your converters. Thus shuting down your computer.

also Cat5 would be swell

I think this might be kinda fun I think I'll ask a buddy to sign up with me. I doubt we will be able to get any points but if its fun and we learn something it'll be worth it.

Oh trust me. a windows box with putty and acces to google can get into our lower level boxes. I made SURE at least one box was way too hackable
