This is the last version before I split it into two FAQs, one for DEFCON in general, and one for the current con. Please provide feedback!

Not really, looks the same, just more common sense for dumb people to figure it out.

No comments, eh?
I suggested it in a previous FAQ discussion thread, to add some text to the Rivier Hotel Costs section to replace the comment about Deluxe rooms:
Change this:
"Priority for room assignment when you say you're with DEFCON is "Deluxe" when making reservations on the phone."
to:
Though priority room assignment for Defcon when you register by phone for Defcon is a, "Deluxe Room," rooms are not assigned at time of reservation; rooms are assigned at check-in, based upon availability.
The link at the very bottom of the FAQ that points to a thread to discuss the FAQ, is 2 generations old. A link to this thread would be better.
Will you be creating a collection of "a href" at the top of the FAQ that link to each questions's answer? It makes it easy for a person to locate answers to their specific question.

Sky boxes. will contest be able to get ahold of a line to the skybox? Last year we the people of amature used a dinky 15" LCD for the score (which never came) and later started playing frozen bubble on it.
I guess i'm asking is. Is running a contest make us eligible for a SKYBOX!!

According to the FAQ...
(which by the way, there are two floating around on the defcon.org front page atm, one that leads to here :http://defcon.org/html/links/dc-faq/faq.html: and a more extensive one located at :http://defcon.org/html/links/dc-faq/dc-faq.html:)
I looked at a map of the convention space and noticed there are sky boxes. Can I reserve one?
No. If you have any great ideas for what a sky box should be used for, feel free to send us suggestions, but individual attendees will not be able to reserve sky boxes.
This pretty much appears to shoot the idea down from first glance, but may allow for some plea to DT, as it alludes to Goon-centric control of them. My thought about the skyboxen?
Access to the skyboxen should be entirely controlled by the Infobooth/RSS-guru guys. Skyboxen should be used as broadcasting centers for talk updates (schedule changes, save AX some sanity type announces), contest/events news and scores. CTF folks should coordinate with the Infobooth like all the other contests; everyone should work in coordination with the infobooth to have a really cool looking / semi-professional seeking OFFICIAL Defcon Broadcast. Heck, instead of powerpoint you could go so far as to coax someone to be available for video announcements DC10 CTF style. Take it a step futher and tie everything to RSS. Also offshore the RSS feeds to servers that can be used to serve the same content to attendee devices during and post con. What should be displayed when event news and defcon announcements are quiet? Dead air? .. well.. duh? Defcon feeder material! Not everyone catches the cool filler video in their room.. even if you do, I don't think anyone catches ALL of the material .. and even if something repeats.. it's usually funny the second of third time around.
This would be my official recommendation .. I suppose.

In the collection of "image-based links" "FAQ" (to the right of "venue" does not appear to be a link.)
Looking at FAQ 1.0 as linked from http://www.defcon.org/ (dc14 page) I see a link to http://www.defcon.org/html/links/dc-faq/faq.html :
When and where is DEFCON?
DEFCON is generally in the last week of July in Las Vegas. DEFCON 13 is July 29-31, at the Alexis Park. Many people arrive a day early, and many stay a day later.
DC13 is mentioned, with "is" (present tense) and the old DC13 dates, and the old location.
How Can I speak at DEFCON?
Also mentions DC13.
Looks like there are at least two FAQ, but perhaps an old FAQ is linked from the DC14 page.

Is it possible for me to ask for a recept for the admittance fee? My company is paying for the event and for bookkeeping is requesting a recept to validate the expence.

Some people have had luck in providing a printout of the site with the "$100 admission fee" included in the hardcopy, and a photo copy of the badge as proof of purchase. Certain Federal employees are rumored to having used "federal checks" as payment for badges (alegedly done in secret rooms to hide the fact that they are feds.)
You may want to check to see if either of these methods are agreeable to your employer as proof and receipt.

When I registered they said I could find it online. When will the link be up? (Last I checked I found nothing...)
Thanks,

Registration ran out of receipts & said they'd be online (defcon.org). Any word on when we can expect to see anything? Thanks...

DT knows about the receipt. He has called someone else about the URL to the PDF, and we'll [the forums] probably have information for you about the receipt "soon."
(Sorry, I can't be more specific than that.)

A PDF of the receipt could go into the CD-ROM that are handed out at reg to save the hassle of extra papers, or running out of them.
This way, after con, people could share the PDF if they wanted, with other people through torrents.

I could put in a reciept to the Navy, they would undoubtedly pay it (within a few months) and then sometime down the road realize I never actually attended, and they take more money away then they actually gave me.
