This is in my path of destruction for all things torrentable. ..just need a little time, literally sitting down 5 minutes from walking in the door.

Thanks for posting this. I'm usually able to get it at DC, but everyone I chatted with this weekend didn't have their disc on them.
Once I hit 100%, I'll seed for as long as necessary.

I don't mind seeding either, but I can't get the torrents yet. I have no problem getting to the /forums page but times out after that.

Thanks a lot for doing this. I wasn't able to make either so this is greatly appreciated. These are the first things I've downloaded as torrents. I know, way behind the times huh? How do I seed? I am using "bittorent-curses" on KDE 3.5. Do I just keep the windows open from when I downloaded? They appear to have an uplink but I am clueless to torrents and seeding? I just want to do something that might help others. Thanks again Converge.

Torrents allow people who are downloading to also share while they are downloading. "Seeding" is a name sometimes applied to people who have 100% of the doanload, but remain online for other people to download from them too.
If you have any kind of NAT, Filtering or Firewall, it is more considerate to allow the ports your torrent client is using, to be open, or allow for pass-through to your client so remote users can connect to you to download.
If you don't allow open connections to your torrent-client's ports, then the only users that can download from you are users that are "connectable" from the internet, that your client chooses to connect to.
If a torrent network is comprised entirely of NAT-ed and filtered ports to torrent clients, nobody gets anything until a connectable users shows up and becomes a central node for users to exchange missing chunks.
Like other things:
Closed ports -> better security.
Open Ports (often) -> faster downloads / easier use but worse security

Awesome, thank you!
I'm seeding now and have an up speed of about 45 kbps for the Blackhat one.

This isn't recordings (not sure where this should go CotMan)
but it seems somewhat related...
If anyone is looking for things off the Defcon 14 CD or Blackhat CD...
both are fully online (not iso's) here:
https://neg9.org/blackhat/
https://neg9.org/defcon/defcon14_cd/
enjoy!

fwiw, I've also got more poop (for those that hadn't already found it) in the folder:
http://defcon.lostboxen.net/discs/
These are straight up files off the box, but as I get my webserver and torrent box straightened out it should be torrentorized and furthermore fully archived/shared up with all other Defcon/Blackhat media and whatnot that I have as far back as defcon10 (and beyond as more video/audio fun is released)

Some of the presentations from DC-14 came in after the CD was made.
All materials we have are now on-line, thanks to Black Beetle. Check out the archives at:
