Every year it is "cancelled" in one way or another. "Defcon is cancelled" falls right under "OMG they killed Kenny!"
I suggest we post the DC15 status on Craigslist. After the news today, anything can happen!

Of course it should be cancelled. If it's not cancelled then who knows what kind of people it might attract. Besides, why break that long string of cancelled DefCons.

I'll tell you want kind of people it would attract: people who carry guns, black t-shirt types, quiet guys (you have to watch them), Feds, nut cases, technophiles, hardware engineers, heavy drinkers, people in Hawaiian shits, and ... OMG! Hackers!
We can't have that.

If DEFCON is cancelled, we'll all show up anyway and get into a lot of trouble.
Maybe we should just have the con anyway and save the hassle.

Astcell, you must not have gotten that memo that went out about two weeks ago?
Defcon has been cancelled again this year do to a shortage of staff.

ya..DT found Jesus and they're kicking it in the caymans with karen carpenter until Sept. Rumor has it that the Riviera sponsered this trip in attempt to keep the hotel 'dye free in august' I don't get it...

Either way, the UFO's will be coming back anyway, so if we don't pre-emptively cancel I think we're all in for a good probing.

Actually there is not now, and never has been "defcon"- It doesn't exist.

Heh-heh. That was a great recorded conversation to listen to-- the one with the prank call from the person that wanted to sell different kinds of hearing aids at Deaf-Con. (?) The one where they they describe the different colored boxes they used. (?) (RedBox, and BlueBox and ...)
Someone (Jeff?) played a tape at the closing ceremonies. If the audio tape isn't yet online, it should be encoded and put online for people to hear. Funny stuff.
(Sorry, I don't remember which Defcon it was-- they all kind of start to run together.)

Yeah, let's go with the con...it'll be my first DEFCON & I'm travelling 000's of miles to get there, so would be mighty peeved to be forced to party hard for a week. :tongue:
