            It would be interesting to try this, except for the fact that I have no desire to see someone in jail let free accidentally.

            I guess a better experiment would be more along the lines of general fax "hacking" in the Schneier article, and finding ways in which people authenticate (or in most cases fail to authenticate) faxes and then go down that attack vector.
