Ok, life is crazy. Recent events have pushed my server going online back to next week.

Please post an intent to enter here in this thread. This will help me judge where we are at right now- as CON draws closer, the contests will grow-

I want to get a feel for how many of you are keeping up with the boards right now...

Do the ends justify the mean means?

not certain if you are asking for a renewed showing of hands, even from those who have expressed interest before or not... but in any case, Team Nostromo will be back. also, due to the size of our posse it has become likely that we will split our ranks and form an additional squad, Team Sulacco. Which Sigourney Weaver film reference will claim victory?

I know several (including myself) from DC949 that would love another mystery box type challenge.

mmmm... think army vs navy in the ultimate throwdown. Team Sulaco will be booty bustin and ready with warmed irons. Our team still has an open slot to fill 5*, we're the under-runt outcasts of Nostromo ready to flex foil muscle and pound PCBs into submission. Please PM me if you're interested in joining the team.

*damn l0st and his 5 member limit! we had such a good thing going...

The great HighWiz can assist you with this for certain. Seek his .. wisdom?

Since Nostromo decided to hog all the hardware gurus.. Sulaco could really use someone that knows their way around a schematic.. final piece and we'll be carving canadian cookies around those squares!

Actually I can only accept 5 members per team "officially"- I have no problem with teams larger than this- the idea behind the 5 person limit is to help me keep track, and for prizes (i.e. it makes it easier on me to provide prizes)-

So here is a question I pose: I was considering only asking for team 'captains'- these will be official representatives, and the POC for each team- last year it became difficult to deal with all 15 teams when multiple team members were asking the same question-

The final decision will of course be mine, but would you rather I allow for teams larger than 5, and ask only for a captain? Or would you rather I accept 5 team members *officially* and you have in your crew as many members as you would like?

The official number of teams I will accept this year: 25
Official number of teams last year: 15

I will also have a wildcard which won't be explained here.

Thoughts? (You have 2 days to respond, then I'm going with what ever I decide :)

(BTW, I am considering those who will be involved in other major projects at CON, so a larger team may facilitate more people getting to play that might not otherwise get to)-

Just an FYI (and I'll make an official announcement)- the challenge will go live Friday mid-morning. I would like everyone to show up if possible (to see en masse how many people are going to be working on the challenge)-

Expect the challenge to take longer this year.

nah, imo a little of 5 is actually a good thing. sure folks can pull more in, but overall it helps the trouble nostromo ran into last year with difficulty fighting for a slice of involvement and many shoulders to try and look over just to figure out what was going on at any given time. Also inserts some additional competition and creativity into folks that may be a little more complacent after experiencing last years extravaganza.

I say keep charging full ahead with your tangent and we'll all be pleasantly surprised and frustrated with your sadistic creation :)

I'm for the 5 limit too, if only to keep the Sulaco-wannabes off Nostromo.

Intent to enter officially posted.

And I would vote for the official 5 limit, but have no problem with other friends helping out the team...

Even if you have posted an intent to enter you must send in an official registration email (see mysterychallenge.org)-

Teams who do not officially register will not get to play...
