    Contest: Best Google Searches (?)

Based on a majority of first posts by various users to the forums, how about a new contest for "best google searches" ?

    Some general ideas:

Search string must be entered from the default form at http://www.google.com/ (not the advanced page, or the /linux page etc)

The first 10 links returned are examined:
More points awarded for links that most closely fit the question.
No points added for links that only mention an item in the question to be answered or are links to other pages that answer the question.
More points are taken away for links that have nothing to do with the question.

Give a multiplier for scores based on how little time is used, and what order they are submitted.
(First submission must drink. Earlier submissions get higher multiplier, later submissions get smaller multiplier, last half of the people to provide a link must drink and get a multiplier of zero.)

Total up to the score for "X" number of questions, and the person with the highest score is winner.

Every "Y" rounds, the audience votes someone off based on noise/applause/cheers/boos.
Audience is judge in ties or disputes.

Maybe google would be willing to offer some sort of prizes for it too.

There are problems with this idea, but they can be solved if there is interest.

You see, people think I am a "know it all" or that I actually know stuff. In reality, I just know how to use google and read. Many people here are far more skilled than me.

Unscrewed with Martin Sargent does something similar, called search spurts...where they just see which of three strings get the most hits...

It could easily be fun in other ways too... Stealing an idea from TDTIAB comedy (Keep your parents off the Internet (flash) or mp3 (you will need to scroll down to find it)) Ask for a search on technical aspects of "latex and bondage" to other objects (plus scores), but have not hits to "pr0n" sites (negative scores)

            Muwhahaha!

[Of course have easy searches too.]
