Just checking in with my source today, to insure that everything will go smooth with AP this July here's what I got:

"DT still has not signed anything with us yet"

"We are taking room reservations right now, but we are also filling up for another conference, becuase sales are slow"

"Because of Slot Machines, no one will be allowed in under 21 unless they are in lobby or stay in rooms"

"There is a high chance DefCon will not be here this year, but we will still refund depostis 72 hours in advanced if it 100% falls though"

I would think this one factor would kill things. I'm sure there are a lot of you out there that would prefer the under-21 crowd stay away, but I've always had a problem with mindless age discrimination.

If you are under 21 you are still allowed to pass through the gaming areas if the place you are going is on the other side. I suppose this will eliminate those who sleep on the lobby floor however.

He hasn't signed anything because Defcon is cancelled. He's thinking of resuming it in 2006, but who knows. See y'all at HOPE.

Ok so I'm kind of so so on that from my understanding of the situation at the AP that they have completely stopped the remodel, the casino has not broken ground yet and the application for gaming has not been processed yet. The night club that was in there is no longer they pulled out last week and pretty much gutted all their equipment. I spoke with a friend of mine who works for the city and he stated that a proposal has been submitted to turn the property around the AP into condos. So every where I turn I hear different things, yes I do believe the AP is lost to us although I couldn’t say if DC will be there or not really at this point I’m not so sure its really a concern any longer. Not to say that gathering info is bad, I say lets wait and see what happens it adds to the surprise and suspense.

Obviously I'm not making an official statement here, but don't you think DT would have announced a change of venue by now? The "you'll know in two weeks if theres a new venue" statement was made quite a while ago, and the website still reads "DefCon 13 will be held at the Alexis Park". Personally, I'd say you should be 99.99% sure that DC13 will be at the Alexis Park. Then again, I'm sure most of you already figured that out.

And yes I realize this thread was started on April Fools. Google did a way better job.
