 020 HACK-A-SAT \n\nThe democratization of space has opened up a new fronti
 er for exploration and innovation. But with this opportunity\, new cyberse
 curity vulnerabilities are also being created. One human can design\, buil
 d and launch a satellite\, adhering to very few standards and security pro
 tocols. So how can we achieve safe\, reliable and trustworthy operations t
 o truly realize the promise of space?\n...BY HACKING A SATELLITE.\n\nWAIT.
 ..WHAT?\n\nThe United States Air Force\, in conjunction with the Defense D
 igital Service\, presents this year’s Space Security Challenge\, Hack-A-
 Sat. This challenge asks hackers from around the world to focus their skil
 ls and creativity on solving cybersecurity challenges on space systems.\nC
 APTURE THE FLAG\, MEET SATELLITE\n\nPull together a team for our Hack-A-Sa
 t Capture The Flag. Participants who successfully complete a set of qualif
 ication challenges on cybersecurity and space this spring will be invited 
 to the ultimate challenge: to (ethically) hack a satellite.\n\nThe RULES:\
 nhttps://www.hackasat.com/rules-here\n\nELIGIBILITY\nThe Space Security Ch
 allenge’s 2020 Hack-A-Sat (HAS) Capture the Flag event is open to all in
 dividuals\, nationalities\, ages\, academic institutions and business enti
 ties\, subject to the caveats below.\n\n An entrant may be an individual c
 ompeting alone or a team representing an academic institution\, business o
 r group of individuals. Each entrant must include at least one U.S. citize
 n or permanent resident.\n Entrants may enter under an official affiliatio
 n (e.g.\, a university or corporation). Entrants may also have an official
  set of sponsors. Only one application per team should be submitted.\n For
  each team\, a single individual must be identified as the team leader. Th
 is person will serve as the official administrative point of contact for c
 ommunications with the HAS staff.\n Teams are to be wholly separate entiti
 es that do not share members or financial interests.\n Individuals cannot 
 be members of multiple teams.\n Teams may have one or more sponsors.\n Tea
 ms may not collaborate or share their technical approaches and solutions w
 ith other teams.\n An entrant may use federal facilities or consult with f
 ederal employees ONLY if the facilities and employees are made available t
 o all individuals and entities participating in the competition on an equi
 table basis.\n All participants under 18 years of age require the authoriz
 ation of a parent or guardian.\n THE FOLLOWING INDIVIDUALS AND ORGANIZATIO
 NS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IN HAS EVENTS\n\n Individual\, organiza
 tion or sponsor that is named in the Specially Designated Nationals List o
 f the U.S. Department of Treasury.\n Federal entities (from the U.S. or an
 y other country) are not eligible to participate as entrants\, sponsors or
  official affiliates. Federal employees acting within the scope of their e
 mployment are not eligible to participate as entrants\, entrant officials\
 , team leaders or team members.\n A Federal Government Military or Civilia
 n employee may be eligible to participate if done so in their personal cap
 acity and if the work performed for the HAS is NOT related to their offici
 al government duties. Federal Government employees should first consult th
 eir designated agency ethics official before participating in the Challeng
 e.\n Persons or entities that received funds for supporting or advising th
 e HAS are not eligible to participate.\n\n\n Registration information coll
 ected by the Air Force will be used solely for the purpose of administerin
 g the event.\n Registration information will not be distributed to any par
 ties outside of the Department of Defense\, nor released for any other pur
 pose except as noted in this document.\n The Air Force reserves the right 
 to disqualify a participant whose actions are deemed to violate the spirit
  of the competition for any reason\, including but not limited to the viol
 ation of relevant laws or regulations in the course of participation in th
