 LsRjGqTshmCwc_7ggJkcxmRerc3RTw/viewform)\n \n\n'Health care and education
 . . . are next up for fundamental software-based transformation’ -Marc A
ndreesen\, A16Z\n\nOur speakers hail from varying fields in the biomedical
ecosystem to engage security researchers and healthcare stakeholders. We
welcome self made entrepreneurs\, security researchers\, inventors\, gover
nment regulators makers\, innovators to discuss real world solutions to so
me of humanity’s most pressing challenges and opportunities in the areas
  of health\, security\, and technology.\n\nSpeakers inspire the audience b
y fostering critical thinking\, problem solving\, informational and human
 interaction literacy skills\, ethics\, creativity\, discussion\, and colla
boration. We have added more subject matter experts and researchers to ref
lect the dynamic changes in the ecosystem.\n\nInstruction for Submitters:\
nLike all hackers\, we are looking to subvert the dominant paradigm...of l
ife itself. Your talk should excite\, elucidate\, enlighten\, and engage p
articipants in the technical\, mechanical\, procedural\, and human side of
biohacking.\n\nYour submission will be held to the following standards:\n
\n Scientific rigor – Was the project conducted in accordance with the s
cientific method\, and were any hypotheses properly investigated? Are less
-scientific aspects of the topic acknowledged as such? If you’re not mak
ing any scientific claims\, does your technology actually work? Or\, if it
was a failure\, is it acknowledged as such with a detailed and interestin
g description of lessons-learned?\n Significance – Is your project signi
ficant to the biohacking and scientific community? Does it add value\, for
  either scientific\, technological\, ethical\, cultural\, or artistic purp
oses?\n Originality – Is your project an original work\, or at least suf
ficiently different from the work it builds on? (Exceptions can be made\,
especially for introductory & educational 101 talks.)\n Coolness – Extra
points will be given for the “cool” factor. We want to be wowed. We w
ant our jaws to drop in wonder. We want to be blown away with the inspirin
g possibility that you have made reality. Amaze us.\n Other helpful hints
for paper submission can be found here (https://www.defcon.org/html/links/
dc-speakerscorner.html#leah-cfp-process).\n No Spam Zone: No sales-focused
talks or demos. Product demos or brief mention of products may be appropr
iate if the audience walks away with a deeper understanding of the actual
technology or science involved. The focus needs to be on knowledge and ski
lls\, not on promoting a specific for-fee product. Spammers will be immedi
 ately rejected!
