 s of the aerospace sector ranging from airports\, air traffic management\,
  aircraft and space.\n\nThe aviation and space industries\, security resea
 rchers\, and the public share a common goal: safe\, reliable\, and trustwo
 rthy aviation and space operations. For too long\, negative perceptions an
 d fractured trust on all sides have held back collaboration between the av
 iation\, space\, and security researcher communities that has advanced saf
 ety\, reliability\, and security of other industries. As the traditional d
 omains of aviation safety and cybersecurity increasingly overlap\, more ef
 fective collaboration between stakeholders ensures we will be safer\, soon
 er\, together.\n\nThrough the Aerospace Village\, the security research co
 mmunity invites industry leaders\, researchers and academia interested in 
 aviation and space security\, safety\, and resilience to attend\, understa
 nd\, collaborate together to achieve our common goals. Empathy and underst
 anding build common ground\, while acts and words likely to increase divis
 ion between these two communities undermine these efforts. The Aerospace V
 illage welcomes those who seek to improve aviation and space security\, sa
 fety\, and resilience through positive\, productive collaboration among al
 l ecosystem stakeholders.\n\nOur Goal\nThe Aerospace Village is a voluntee
 r team of hackers\, pilots\, and policy advisors who come from the public 
 and private sectors. We believe the flying public deserves safe\, reliable
 \, and trustworthy air travel which is highly dependent on secure aviation
  and space operations.\n\nOur Mission\nCreate\, sustain\, and grow an incl
 usive community focused on aerospace cybersecurity\;\n\nInspire the next g
 eneration of aerospace cybersecurity leaders\;\nPromote and develop aerosp
 ace cybersecurity expertise and knowledge.\n\nThe Aviation Village will do
  this by:\n- Building connections\, trust\, and understanding among all Vi
 llage participants.\n- Developing aerospace security skills among DEF CON 
 attendees through workshops and hands-on activities.\n- Promoting construc
 tive dialog through talks and interaction.​
