 \n\nHackers are early users and abusers of technology\, and that technolog
 y is now critical to modern life. As governments make policy decisions abo
 ut technology Hackers\, researchers and academics need to be part of that 
 conversation before decisions are made\, not after policies are implemente
 d. To do that DEF CON is a place for everyone on the policy and technology
  spectrum to interact\, learn from each other\, and improve technology.\n\
 nPolicy will build connections across and between technical and policy exp
 erts and provide opportunities for attendees interested in learning more a
 bout how policy and technology intersect and to examine the challenges at 
 this intersection.\n\nOur Policy program will consist of Main stage presen
 tation and panels\, daytime sessions in our policy track\, and some evenin
 g lounges that will provide an off the record and more intimate setting to
  have policy-focused conversation​\n\nTech policy is going to happen and
  we believe including diverse expert voices will improve outcomes across t
 he policy-technology spectrum by bridging the gap between technical and po
 licy practitioners. Senior government officials\, policy experts\, nonprof
 it and the private sector\, security researchers\, hackers\, academics and
  technologists from around the world all come together at Policy @ DEF CON
