DESCRIPTION:Title: 5Ghoul Framework - 5G NR Attacks & 5G OTA Fuzzing\nPrese
nter: Matheus Eduardo Garbelini\nCo-Presenter: Sudipta Chattopadhyay\nLoca
 tion: W305\nDay\,Time: Sat Aug 10 \, 10AM - 11:45AM\nAudience: Offense\, M
 obile\nProject: https://github.com/asset-group/5ghoul-5g-nr-attacks\n\nAbs
tract:\n5Ghoul Fuzzer is an over-the-air security testing tool and fuzzing
framework that leverages a rogue 5G NR base station to systematically cre
ate test cases targeting 5G-capable smartphones or Qualcomm USB-based mode
ms. Moreover\, such framework contains test case scripts to launch attacks
exploiting 10 implementation-level vulnerabilities ranging from DoS to Do
wngrades that affect commercial 5G modems from major chipset vendors such
as Qualcomm and MediaTek. The tool is released open sourced\, but it is al
so continuously experimented with newer devices. For example\, there are t
wo more 5G implementation vulnerabilities that are under embargo and will
be released by the end of this month in the open source repository and web
site maintained for the project.\n\nBios:\n* Presenter:\nMatheus Eduardo G
arbelini is a Research fellow at Singapore University of Technology and De
sign (SUTD) and a White Hat Wireless Hacker by hobby. Through his research
in wireless fuzzing\, he discovered implementation vulnerabilities in the
chipset of countless Bluetooth\, Wi-Fi\, and 5G commercial IoT devices.\n
 * Co-Presenter:\nSudipta Chattopadhyay is an Associate Professor at Singap
ore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) and hacks code during his s
pare time. His general research interests lie in the broad area of cyber s
ecurity including but not limited to security for AI\, Wireless Technologi
es\, and Internet of Things (IoTs). Together with Matheus\, he discovered
SweynTooth\, BrakTooth and 5Ghoul\, families of Bluetooth and 5G NR vulner
abilities that affected billions of devices worldwide.
