  • DC206 is alive and well! Get Involved.

    Welcome to the DC206 Sub-forum on defcon.org:

DC206 is a gathering point for people interested in the alternate applications of modern technology. Our meetings are open to anyone and everyone regardless of their skill, age, job, gender, etc. The group is designed to help you learn new things, and if you think you are up for it, maybe you can teach us a thing or two!

    DC206: Getting Involved

DC206 is a VERY ACTIVE group in the greater Seattle area. If you would like to start getting involved, we encourage you to reach out and interact with other members in the area. You can become involved with DC206 through the following outlets--

    The DC206 Mailing List:
Send an email to majordomo@dc206.org with a body containing 'subscribe list'.
This is a general mailing list where you can engage other members in discussions about technology and computer security. It is also one of the primary means through which you can discover or suggest upcoming DC206 events.

    DC206 IRC Chat:
    Server: irc.efnet.org - Channel: #dc206
Need an escape from the daily grind? The DC206 IRC channel is extremely active and a great way to get to know some local folks who are interested in the alternate application of technology. If you want to feel out the group or are tentative about diving directly into a meeting, this is a fantastic place to start!

    The DC206 Website:
    www.DC206.org
The www.dc206.org website provides reasonably up-to-date information about what is going on with the group and what upcoming events we have planned.

    Monthly Meetings:
    Third Sunday of The Month
We are lucky to have a number of outstanding hacker spaces in the area, one of which, Black Lodge Research, is kind enough to host our monthly meetings on the third Sunday of each month.
Meetings are open to all and generally consist of a class or talk followed by time to socialize and share ideas. DC206 is a very open group, if you are unsure if you will be comfortable, don't be shy, stop by one of our meetings and get to know some people.

    Location of Meetings:
    Black Lodge Research
    17725 NE 65th St A-155
    Redmond, WA 98052
Directions to monthly meetings and additional class information may be be found by visiting the Black Lodge Research web page directly at www.blacklodgeresearch.org . As an added benefit, DC206 members are often welcome to attend publicly posted Black Lodge Research classes.
DISCLAIMER: If you are under the age of 18, please have a legal guardian present. If you are under 21, please do not consume any alcohol on the property of the Black Lodge Research.
