Re: Titanium Chef Challenge
i like to schedule the challenge earlier in the day so that we don't interfere with the "main" TBBQ cooking that goes down. historically, the timeline runs like this...
15:00 - ingredient reveal, teams dash out for supply run
16:00 - teams arrive at park and start cooking, using the park grills if they like and/or any equipment that they have with them.
17:00 - cooking should be done, final plating happens, etc.
(the TBBQ staff can then start using the grills for their big cooking sessions)
17:30 - final judgement, etc. by now people are showing up a lot for the BBQ, etc.
i don't recall them being there. (i could certainly be wrong, though)
they're not dis-allowed or anything. power inverters from vehicles, generators, haxoring the street lamps... i won't disqualify people for anything like that.

Re: Titanium Chef Challenge
Just a quick question, do we have to bring our own grills, or will we be able to use the ones in the park? Also is there going to be any power outlets at all?Leave a comment:

Re: Titanium Chef Challenge
You are more than welcome to use the smoker for the competition, if you don't mind using Hickory as your wood. Although, only having an hour and depending on the meat Dev has chosen, it might not do you any good. Unless of course you want to smoke up some veggies...Originally posted by AcidicAHmm I would love to use the smoker but I dont know if you want to give another team and edge but theres a ton of stuff I can do with smoked foods.
Mmmm... that gives me some ideas.Leave a comment:

No bribes, just trying to make sure everyone gets to enjoy themselves and try some great BBQ. The competition at last years event was so strong and I am just looking forward to seeing what those and new teams bring to the table.Originally posted by Deviant Ollamare you trying to bribe the judges with such awesomeness?
Again, if anyone has any other suggestions for what they would like smoked, please let me know. Most meats can be done in less than 6-8 hours and we are more than happy to fulfill some requests. Once I fire the smoker up, it doesn't make sense to only cook a little bit of meat.
In regards to arranging proper pleasuring for my genitalia: I like cold hands and warm yogurt. Oddly appealing, but then again I am from the MidWest, so that explains a lot.Leave a comment:

Re: Titanium Chef Challenge
omfg, you are so the man. are you trying to bribe the judges with such awesomeness? We are planning on bringing some other cooking equipment this year and whipping up alot more food outside of the competition. Right now we have already made plans to haul one of my box smokers up the LV and smoke up some ribs, yard bird and at Deviants request, some Pork Wings. Yes, Pork Wings.
i would suggest that you please instruct us as to the proper manner in which you like your balls cupped or massaged while getting your shaft serviced, because i want you receiving proper and perfect treatment in reflection of how kickass you and your people are.
we eagerly await your return and all your extra goodness. it's that sort of generosity that makes bystanders and audience members so happy and brings the event to a whole new level. if there were a "general good vibe" award you'd have a lock on that at the moment. heh, maybe we should create that.

Reporting in Gentlemen...
Team SMOKE and I will again be participating in this years Titanium Chef competition. I suppose we have to defend our title :)

We are planning on bringing about 15 - 20 racks of ribs and 10 or so chickens. So there will be plenty of food to share. Any other suggestions?Leave a comment:

Re: Titanium Chef Challenge
Sadly I dont have alot of experiance with Teppan Nitro cooking. And really its often more for show then anythign else. It could be fun to bust out and quick freeze some alcohol to make the judges overy sympathetic to my teams dishes but I think I will just use skill and a heavy dose of sodium alginate.Leave a comment:

Could we get kangaroo as the mystery ingredient. I really liked it while I was in Australia a few years ago, would love to eat it again sometime!Leave a comment:

Man this is getting more exciting every day. I been doing so much research already for a talk on food hacking I submitted. I keep finding recipies and saying to myself Oh man please let (insert meat haha) be the mystery ingred. I know 0x58 is really excited too, we talk about it atleast 3 times a week and are about to start practicing techniques together. Hope we get some strong competaters. I want to see what a bunch of computer geeks can do with fire, oil, and flesh.Leave a comment:
