You might also consider whether what you're going to say has any greater weight than the standard silliness that usually prevails when a group of adolescents first encounter alcohol.
That seems needlessly harsh. He's been relatively rational in this thread, and has brought up some good points.

Anyway, yeah. Everyone seems a little too wound up over this. It was an interesting question, at least.

I'm at four syllables assuming you can pronouce my nick in the first place. Call me what you want, just keep the free beers coming. And don't have your robot shoot me this year.

Though I have no room to talk with my bent sense of humor and dyslexic AADD brand of English as well as most times having way way too much caffeine in my system; I have but one statement to make about this thread:

DIE THREAD DIE, DIE PAINFULLY PLEASE!!!!!!!

As far as nicks go I've always been partial to smucko :-), having been one at times myself.

You just made my tailing of this thread entirely worth it, several times over. It's times like this that I miss the older, more sensitive and mature responses from skrooyoo.

Hey DT, why did you drop into this thread?

I guess we've figured out that they do matter. Since this thread started as the question, albeit an unrequired question, and has since turned into insults, defenses, retorts, failure in english, and finally anger. So, I guess someone's name does matter, considering this whole dilemma has lasted for four pages.

I dropped into this thread to add my 2 cents about building a personae around a nick, how I really enjoyed the story "True Names" by Vernor Vinge's visionary story telling, how critical it is to protect your identity until you decide to make it public, etc.

Instead I find an SVoS (Swirling Vortex of Shit) that started with such promise. Well, at least the original question "Do nicks or handles matter?" had a lot going for it.

That's my judgment about your character.

The ice is now really thin, and is showing cracks. I'm about this far [thumb and forefinger very close] from closing the thread, just to put you out of my misery, and from the looks of things, others feel similarly.

If you want to change your nick, just shut up, pick a new name, put in the request.
Hey, can I change my name to his old name if he changes it? Because I really wanna be ub3rl33t.

You can keep saying what you please on the forums about me, although I was only here trying to make friends with same interests as I. Further more, I have not displayed any signs of immaturity on the forums, other then grammar mistakes if you want to consider that immature. So before you go judging ones character and his actions give it some time. I also did not ask for you opinion on the other handle I only asked would that be better suited.

Indeed... In fact, I'm almost tempted to go back through all of your posts and find the grammatical errors right now... I'm sitting in class and I'm really bored, but probably not that bored. =)

Consider this entire thread a hole, and you're standing in it. Continuing to post about this topic is like digging further into this hole in order to get out...it isn't going to work. Drop the thread and just move on...
