At first I was kind of surprised seeing this, but after a couple minutes of thinking about it... it seems like a smart and logical move for the company...

My thoughts were:

) Servers are generally proprietary to begin with, something Apple has not been able to leverage out of the PC market
) Whether well-founded or not, Apple hardware has the aura of reliability and superiority
) Add to that OSX, and the servers should be highly scalable, securable, and serve multiple utility in a business setting

) side-thought on the entertainment center track: this could be tough to accomplish with Sony and Microsoft consoles sweeping that as part of the video game market... howso? I know I use my xbox as a relatively central entertainment device for dvd, music, and gaming- instead of buying multiple devices at more expense
