  • The Mysterious Black Screen of Death - Is It Vista?

So what do Defcon folks think....

    Malware or Vista quirks....?

I personally haven't see it yet. Errant application most likely. RPC related makes it very suspicious.

Just because you can doesn't mean you should. This applies to making babies, hacking, and youtube videos.

KSOD was an easy fix for me, I installed Debian. As for the cause, no, I do not think it is malware. I think it is a system trying to compensate for a denied login by using another system account.

One of my laptops catch the KSOD a while back...when I got to the value name part, the value was already NT AUTHORITY\Network Service.

I changed it to LocalSystem just to see what it would do, and theres no difference in how it acted before....

I probably have a different bug or something
