What are your predictions for 2009?
I predict Defcon will be canceled for the 16th year in a row. (Assuming the first one really happened. Seriously. Were you there? I wasn't. How do you know it even happened? Pictures?! PhotoShop!)
The world ends on April 1, 2009 and then people realize they still have to pay taxes, so they go back to work.
On a less silly note:
Tax cuts and increased spending in the US will fuel real inflation while discrepancies between real inflation and manufactured inflation suggest the US economy is doing better than it really is.
A depressed economy will mean deals in Las Vegas for this Defcon will be easier to find, as casinos fight over a shrinking number of customers.
Employees will realize that they are expendable, and not having a strong work ethic or motivation to deliver no-matter-what-it-takes, puts them on the short list of first-to-cut.
