  • Nanomaterials and what is to come

Whilst recently surfing on the world wide interweb, I came across something that was quite fascinating: the Nokia Morph.

This got me to thinking. Sure, it's a novel way to market cell phone technologies, but what other uses could it be fashioned for? I think the implications for nanomaterials is far more reaching than this. Computers could take on a whole new platform, as well as applications for medicine, etc.

    What are your thoughts?

I hope we build a nanoshield before we get destroyed by grey goo.

I could sure go for some utility fog though.

yeah, nano technology seems pretty limitless, until we figure out what's actually doable and what it's actually good for.

The linked nokia article is just art and wishful thinking. oh bother.
      It's not stupid, it's advanced.

One really cool and promising thing I saw about nano-tech was solar cells. Imagine high-density, non-glass(no scratches), uber thin, light, and .... flexible like fabric or paper. You could walk around wearing a power house. Very cool.

Solar cells have come way down in price. You can get a 12v 20watt for like $200. Enough to power an access point or similar low power technology. Very exciting indeed.

Just because you can doesn't mean you should. This applies to making babies, hacking, and youtube videos.
