Hey,

I was trying to come up with a good project to practice some of the things I've been studying, and I decided to try and reverse engineer a maphack for Warcraft III (An RTS game, P2P hosted over battle.net). I started by locating one of them and downloading it, and I'm working on decompiling it. The only issue is that I don't know where to learn to interpret the output of a decompiler. I'm currently using IDA.

(Also, I don't even know if it's possible to prevent this type of application from being used, since the information might be stored client side)

I was hoping someone could offer some direction in terms of where to research interpreting the output of a decompiler (It has hex-view and "IDA"-view).

Lastly, if this task is something far greater than my means, I would appreciate any honesty in that respect. (Looking at the hex makes me think I may have undertaken a task that I do not possess the fortitude to complete, with my current education.)

As always, I greatly appreciate any sage advice that could be given to my plight.

Thanks,

hinges
