Hey, just wondering. We purchase badges only at the hotel (I apparently don't have a room now) or is there someway we can get them before the con somewhere else? Basicly, in all forms....how can I get a defcon badge.

I don't mean to be a jerk here (that won't stop me though), but would it kill people to do a simple search of the forums prior to posting questions?

Last year's were cool, but some of the speakers didn't like them. They looked out and saw people playing with their badges instead of paying attention. (And that was the hardware mods guy, he was damn interesting.)
My favorite (I've only been to 7-9 thus far), was 7. The metal ones were tough, looked good, and I'm certain could be quite useful if someone was creative.R.J.

Sharpen the ol' edges up.
Hell, bend one of the sides back and forth until it snaps off, then make sure it's pretty flag by stepping on it. Instant handcuff shiv, for when the inconsiderate person who placed you in such a situation doesn't actually LOCK the cuffs, just closes them.
Could also be used to pull up the tab on canned beverages, although some drastic mods would probably have to be performed to make it into a bottle opener.R.J.
