  • Kismet Newcore hits RC1

Kismet Newcore, which I've been waiting for 5+ years for has finally hit release candidate status.

    http://www.kismetwireless.net/

Total re-write of the codebase from the ground up, the new code has too many new features to list, but believe me, Dragorn put in a huge amount of work to free up the codebase to move forward and become an even greater tool.

*Disclaimer: I've been helping out as a sort of beta test monkey, so opinions are slightly biased

Intel isn't all the bad when it comes to open source support. It could be far worse, you could have brand x(Broadcom) hardware.

Patching is required for some drivers for injection, but not monitor mode

I heard broadcoms suck donkey balls.

Please don't hold back next time you post. I had a tough time discerning the true meaning of your post.
A third party security audit is the IT equivalent of a colonoscopy. It's long, intrusive, very uncomfortable, and when it's done, you'll have seen things you really didn't want to see, and you'll never forget that you've had one.

They do suck for doing anything other than just wanting to surf-da-tubes. I have a few machines with them installed, and they're fine for that.

They make decent keychains too... A little stabby in the pocket, but you know it's there ;)

I think that quote shouldn't be added to the Church of WiFi home page :-).
