Salem police arrested a man Monday they found sitting in his car stealing wireless Internet to look at pornography.

Police were called to South Salem on a report of a suspicious vehicle, spokesman Lt. Dave Okada said. A Portland television station reported that the man's car was parked on Myers Street SE, near Bush's Pasture Park.

The caller told police that the man had parked there several times over a couple of days and seemed to be using a laptop computer, police said.

When officers responded, they saw the image on the man's computer screen was pornographic, Okada said.

Odd, but I think this is a bigger crime than if he just shoplifted a Penthouse magazine.

Shoplifting a penthouse, misdemeanor, citation. Theft of service, felony. Plus if I'm not mistaken, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but can they not also nail him on lewd conduct and or indecent exposure for having a pornographic image on a screen in his vehicle while in public?

Depends on the state but here in PA it's a felony. Chapter 18, right up there with deviant sex. So in PA he would be doubly screwed.
