that idea just leaves too much chance that microsoft would work it's way into the flight industry... "do you dare fly today?"

If you found out that every plane in the air had an IP address you'd not keep them turned off for long. :)

    wireless

It used to be that if you had an amateur radio license they'd give you more leniancy in regards to having radios on board, etc. I still carry mine just in case, but I try not to create a stir by asking to have my scanner on, 802.11, phone, etc. They aren't honestly very useful anyway.

    WIRELESS

Some planes have a server with cnn.com and other pages COPIED on to it, you do not get fresh data until they land. Now if they are realtime wireless now, that would be cool!

Not many...pretty much you are good to go except they have to be turned off on the plane once the fasten seatbelts light goes on. Once you reach 10,000 feet (i think this is the right altitude but if I am wrong please correct me) you can turn on a lot of stuff (laptops, games, etc.) but not wireless stuff like cell phones. Some airlines are starting to put wireless networks on planes, but I haven't flown on one that does yet so can't speak to it.

    Airline restrictions

Well, I got thinking (not on purpose) about the topic while undertaking the task of transporting my equipment... it donned on me, what restirctions are there for wireless devices, etc as carry-ons. Anyone?
