  • Cannonball I-15 Road Conditions

Road was clear and clean the whole way. No major construction except that last pass before the Border. Even that was still 2 lanes though.

A *shit ton* of cops! probably 5x more than I usually see (most were covering southbound). They were pulling over groups of up to 5 vehicles too! Mostly between Barstow and Baker. I also saw the damn CHP plane by the agriculture checkpoint.

Lots of CHP in San Bernardino County right now, maybe they are trying to rebuild the state budget all by themselves, but I just had 2 friends ticketed and one had not even been pulled in 17 years. They do use radar and hide around corners in my neck of the woods..

Time for a Smokey and the Bandit marathon and break out your CB radios. Good luck, they are indeed out in force.

Thanks everyone for the warnings about the police. I will pass along the info to everyone at the start line Thursday morning.

I have my HF radio but I will be sticking to the CB freqs and will be bouncing between 19 (27.185 Mhz) and 33 (27.335 Mhz).

I am curious to see what happens when they pull my sporty car over with all the electronics and a 57 inch steel whip. I better make sure my registration and insurance are updated.

East bound and down, loaded up and truckin',
We're gonna do what they say can't be done.
We've got a 288 miles to go and a short time to get there.
I'm east bound, just watch cannonball run.
