I am new at this but here it goes - Mods, feel free to move this where you feel where this fits.

As you may know the folks here wanted to have recordings of the DJs performing live at the con. We ran into so much crap that even my laptop couldn't handle the heat... But I used my high-def camcorder to record at least 10-13 hours of the video of some of the DJs.

I am compiling them and are going to post them on Youtube (or something else you'd recommend.)

This is what is in my manifest:

Corruptdata, most of the NSB Pool party (Scritch, Simon Plexus, Reeves, Undecided *Both pool party and whiteball*, DJ Great Scott, SailorGloom, DJ nJn trubl, Pepse, Felix K, & Miss Jackalope *Sorry Jackalope, that video may be poor - too much ass in the video!*

PS: I am also willing to contribute my pictures I took at the ToxBBQ and the Balls. Also, if any of the DJs want a DVD, PM me. I should have them ready by the end of next week. Complete n00b about movie editing.

Very cool, and I hate to be a killjoy; but did you get permission from said parties to record them as well as then take the footage and post it to youtube? Personally I feel if you are going to perform at Defcon and don't want to be photographed you should be wearing a gas mask or something similar. That stated the official policy is to ask permission first, less you risk being "punched in the face and your camera broken".

Just because you can doesn't mean you should. This applies to making babies, hacking, and youtube videos.

Just something to keep in mind - bad credit goes anyway in 7 - 10 years, pictures on the internet are for $%^&ing forever!!!!!!.

I would still run it by each DJ that you filmed offline, and get their approval first. There were a lot of asshats running around with cameras willy-nilly this year, and no one likes an asshat.

Willco! Im holdin off the youtube idea until the permits and the DVDs are mailed direct to them first and letting them decide from there. I got respect for ppl, otherwise I wouldn't have recorded in the first place. I know the legal and physical ramifications of being an asshat here.

If you want, I can do some movie editing for you, as long as you can actually post 'em, that is, if you don't mind some person you don't know editing videos that you recorded :D I'll put them on YouTube too, if you want.

Can you please _not_ release the videos on you tube?

I wanted GreatScott to make sure everything was recorded so DEFCON could edit, name, tag, and release the content. Once it is out there it is gone, under different file names and descriptions. I'd like to keep the initial release ours.

Then when people post the videos or p2p share them or whatever they will at lease be named and tagged properly.

Once you are ready I can D/L them from you, pay you for a hard drive and postage, etc, and you can get them to DEFCON.

Got 'em all, I renamed them, will do some minor editing if necessary, and will start uploading them.
