I felt this kind of fell right in line with this thread. Now bad guys can take a picture of a cute girl at the grocery store, have it automatically check all the stupid social sites and determine when the best time to do bad things would be.

Kind of takes things to the next level, doesn't it?

While no one on the planet would accuse me of even being mildly attractive..."meet my friend. Legal to carry and use if threatened..." :-)

Seems like the chances of taking a recognisable picture, searching all the social networking sites, correlating a found name with an address etc; Seems like a lot of work for not much in return. If it worked as well as people expected, that'd be a different matter.

It's going to be a much lower yield rate than what most burgulars/blackmailers and perverts already do. Every so often a technology comes along thats supposedly going to be brilliant for the criminals, yet the existing methods still work anyway.

I think it's especially interesting how easily it could be turned into an efficient tool.
Many users I've seen using these services have their homes set as locations, and these are the locations they'll check in to the most.

One just has to watch twitter for Foursquare (or gowalla) checkins in the local area, then read that users history and guess what their home address is. I suppose there's no guarantee that everyone is out of the house, though.

Welcome to the 21st century of crime I suppose, I wonder just how many of these "feeds" are actually ever acted upon and what the legal implications of them are if they have been used. I mean they set up the entire site to illustrate the dangers of advertising your whereabouts on the internet. I suppose its a lesson some people really need to learn.
