Re: Looking to join a team this year..
Teamwork and leadership is what makes the game happen. Creativity and enthusiasm is what makes the game fun. The judges are who make the game sick and twisted. Though the game is challenging, scav hunt is in no way impossible, and you are the only one who can perceive it as hard.
Enjoy DefCon, and I'll see you at the table!

Scavenger Hunt, seriously is one of the most challenging contests at DefCon.
And to further explain what I said above, it's about finding/forming the right team. Everybody has different skills and assets they can bring to the table. If you want to win the game you need to find people with a wide assortment of those skills and assets.
"Eternal glory! That's what awaits the team who wins The Scavenger Hunt, but to this that team must dedicate themselves to the challenge. The Scavenger hunt is not for the weak minded or lazy." (Inspired by Dumbledore)
People don't always remember who won the scavenger hunt year to year, but people do remember what some of the scavenger hunt teams and participants did. It's the stuff of DefCon Legends.
So, g3k, if I were you, I'd spend some time, find a good group of people and submit your self to the challenge...

That said, its really easy to put a team together. Hang out at the table for a bit, and your'e sure to find someone who wants to play as well. My first year playing was with a group of people that I hadn't met before. Siv, Eris and Vandal will also be a great resource at the table cause they will be hearing from people who want to play.

I'm a runner so if there's something the team needs to get from a place,
I'll do it.

I'm interested in joining a team this year.. but have not participated in the event before. Any existing teams need another member?
