Re: Who would you like to meet at DefCon?
I haven't really met anyone, I did see renderman, I only recognized him by his emaciated frame and long hippy hair. I told him seeing the handcuff trick was pretty sweet.
That's about it.
I don't even really know who I'd want to meet to tell the truth, of course I do owe a certain someone a steak dinner for ruining my network a few years ago...I guess I'd like to meet everyone on the forum, maybe I should go to that forum meet & greet thing I hear about periodically..Leave a comment:

Re: Who would you like to meet at DefCon?
Yep, that was me! (Did the mentioning of scrubs give me away? *smirks*) The group and I built an open source sleep lab last year. I must admit I won't be talking sleep much this year since this year it is all about building and beating a polygraph. I always have the problem with the way that the group shift project topics completely that I always forget everything I learned doing the project the year before. (*laughs*)Leave a comment:

Re: Who would you like to meet at DefCon?
I hope and look forward to meeting everyone and anyone, I think there is a tremendous amount of extremely interesting and intelligent people just waiting to be met! If i don't get to meet them that is ok as-well though,
I am sure it was Ne0nRa1n that did the sleep analysis talk last year ? would love to meet you and talk sleep! sleep paralysis etc and I'm sure I could find a similar example with pretty much everyone in this thread and beyond!Leave a comment:

Re: Who would you like to meet at DefCon?
The people I would of liked to meet don't really come to DEFCON anymore.
I always wanted to meet Grandmaster Ratte from the Cult of the Dead Cow. I saw him speak one year and it blew me away. I miss the craziness that CDC used to bring to the experience of the conference. That is why I do things like wearing butterfly wings or medical scrubs when I give speeches. It is my tiny way of remembering the things I used to love a million years ago in con history.Leave a comment:

Re: Who would you like to meet at DefCon?
I hope to meet some people I already talk to online. I also want to meet people who I can stay in contact with after and build my skills with. As for well known people I want to meet Charlie Miller and or Dino Dai Zovi, yes I'm a mac user.Leave a comment:

Re: Who would you like to meet at DefCon?
I would have liked that too, the first year we talked about it, or the second year, or the third year.... Now it is just a running joke or metaphor for something that doesn't happen.
We three should use it in cases where one of the following doesn't quite fit:
* When Hell freezes over
* When cows fly
We can start now!
When will that happen? When we three have pho together at Pho Hoa!
True, even if it ever does happen.
Also, I got tired of waiting for all of us to go there, so I went there on my own 2 or 3 years ago and some with someone else. I'd go back again with you guys. Let's make plans to do that. When?

This is a fun! :-)Last edited by TheCotMan; May 20, 2010, 20:22.Leave a comment:

Re: Who would you like to meet at DefCon?
If you are used to dying your hair an extreme color and you know what to expect, do it. Otherwise I offer this as "cons"
1. You have to bleach bleach bleach your hair before you dye it a non conventional color.
2. You will get roots. This means you have to bleach bleach bleach again, only this time you can't get any bleach on what you already bleached or your hair will fall out more than it has already. My natural is a med blonde,an ashy light brownish blonde. Each time I bleached it was 2 or 3 treatments, that's bleaching for ~3-4hrs, something to consider. My hair was also SHORT, neck length bob. The longer your hair the longer this will take and the longer the process to get it right. If you've bleached before you know that the middle can be orange while the roots & tips are yellow. Arrrgh. Also, dark roots with pink hair looks bad, the most slight amount of roots growing in ruins the whole look on me. So bleaching and touching up became consistent and expensive.
3. The lighter you have to make your base color the worse condition your hair will be in. I went White since I was doing pink. Since you are thinking of a red, your base can be orange or yellow which isn't so bad. Think about the color wheel before you mix, lol.
4. We have now officially thread jacked this into discussions about hair.
Ps, one more thing. my hair has still not recovered from pink from last defcon. When you bleach your hair, especially the lighter you go, the less it is able to take on new color if you want to dye over it. It took me 4 attempts to get my hair to take a normal color after that. I had a purple/ashy/green/brown/reddish mix for a few days on my hair because the hair simply was not healthy enough to re dye. I still have a few streaks in my hair that are "Off color" if you look at them in the right light. Consider that if you HATE what you do to your hair, you might be stuck with poor condition hair and a battle on getting it to take a new more conventional color when you tire of it. I recommend streaking/highlighting, or choosing a color which doesn't require heavy bleaching from your existing hair color. The lighter your hair is now naturally, the easier the process will be.Last edited by Nikita; May 19, 2010, 15:05.Leave a comment:

Re: Who would you like to meet at DefCon?
Isn't "reverse mohawk" just a fancy name for male pattern baldness?
I was thinking of going fire engine red. Nikita, any advice? :) Then again, after this weekend I have been tempted to go for an Acid Burn look. (But only if I can find a classic suzuki biker jacket and nice leather pants.)Leave a comment:

Re: Who would you like to meet at DefCon?
I love mohawks, but I shaved my head before and I did not like it one bit. I prefer it on men or attractive women. That and I MISS my long hair a lot, so does Neil. He would be really upset. He would glare at you angrily just for suggesting it actually. :-)Leave a comment:

If you're looking for awesome stuff to do with your hair, mohawk-con has an open seat at the clippers for you. You know you want to show Neil that he isn't the only one with bad ass hawk!Leave a comment:
