    DefCon 101
    Speaker Roll Call


    Two of the four speakers who will be presenting their unique perspectives and experiences on getting (and being) involved with DefCon and the hacker community at large.


    Lockheed

    Lockheed is the Sr. Goon in charge of the DefCon Network Operations Group. Professionally, Lock has 25 years of experience in the technology field. He's had jobs ranging from lowly tech writer and mainframe operator to product engineer and product marketing manager, currently Lock is IT director for Sony PlayStation Worldwide Studios America. He's been on DefCon staff for 15 years now, since DefCon 4.


    GodMinusOne

    GodMinusOne is a team lead on the DefCon security staff, organizer of the Toxic BBQ and SushiCon, guitarist in the Goon band “Recognize” and a member of the Shmoo Group. He has been attending the conference since DefCon 7 and has been on staff since DefCon 10. If you find what he has to say useful – buy him a beer.

          I am a third, and I will be speaking, however the third speaker I mentioned above is not me.

          Next week I'll be posting info on the third speaker from that grouping as well as the other people and maybe even a mini-game.

              Probably not. But he did mention two sub-Saharan pygmies, a vat of axle grease, and the airhorn from a GE locomotive.

              Or maybe I just heard it wrong.

                      Included below is our third speaker who will be presenting her unique perspectives and experiences on getting (and being) involved with DefCon and the hacker community at large. And the contest Goon who will be talking about the contests at DefCon.


                      Jenn

                      Jenn is a shift lead at the DefCon Information Booth. She has been attending since DefCon 10, and staffing since DefCon 13. In her DefCon experience, she has participated in Hacker Jeopardy, Scavenger Hunt, and the Wardriving competitions. She has worked in IT, the financial sector, and is a certified school teacher. It's also a little known fact that Jenn is actually the brains behind the book 'InfoSec Career Hacking'.


                      Pyr0

                      Pyr0 is the Sr. Goon in charge of all DefCon Official and Unofficial Events and Contests. He is the founder of Defcon Skytalks and r00t Cellar Security Team. He proudly represents as a member of 303, Security Tribe, and DENHAC. With 16 years of professional experience, Pyr0 is currently a Security Consultant for BT (British Telecommunications) EHCOE. Pyr0 has also worked with several .gov's and hundreds of international companies. He has been attending Defcon since DC6 and has been staff since Defcon 7.


                      The last two speakers will be announced soon.

                        Speaker Roll Call

                        HighWiz will be giving a DefCon Survival Talk and DT will be speaking as an official representative of DEF CON.


                        HighWiz

                        After being banished to earth by galactic overload Xenu, HighWiz went to work as a personal "fixer" for the pope. He next found employment as an activities director aboard cruises destined for the Gaza Strip. Currently, he serves as an oil exploration specialist / dolphin scrubber.

                        HighWiz has been attending DefCon for many years, and maintains the Unofficial DefCon FAQ.

                        In his spare time, HighWiz enjoys keeping an eye on the Russians with his gal-pal Sarah, and having tickle fights with other men in his office (which is totally NOT GAY).

                        Some of HighWiz's other goals in life include:
                        • Figuring out what the frak was up with starbuck on the last season of Battlestar Galactica
                        • Adding another face to Mount Rushmore, in the likeness of the Mohammed
                        • Locating the fountain of w00t

                        HighWiz aspires to achieve world domination through hope, change and a complete lack of planning.
