Background
so, this idea is being kicked around in another thread, and i think it could be seriously cool... bringing a new element to the con that we've never really been able to see before.
What
there is talk of DCTV coming back when we move to the Rio. this will (ostensibly) enable people to view the con talks via the hotel's television network. people are excited about how this might translate into not just private, in-room viewing of talks among one or two friends but also how we might see plush, comfy "viewing rooms" in swanky parts of the hotel.
private individual groups or sponsoring corporations might opt to rent out suites or some other series of adjoining rooms and offer not just comfy conditions but also amenities like drinks, snacks, and possibly other cool offerings (being able to ask questions perhaps from the con suite... questions that would be relayed to a person down in the talk room who would approach the mic, etc)
How
This is sort of a two-part section. Because there's the "how can this be done" (which is sort of a matter of sponsoring and permissions from the hotel, something that would be worked out privately, i imagine) and "how should this be done" which is where we want to hear from you.
What sort of things should Con Suites have? How should admission be regulated? How large could they or should they be? And, perhaps also important... what would the Rio allow or enable?
Post your comments, suggestions, recon, and intel.
I wanna see this happen.
