Wireless training

So conversations about doing wireless training at an upcoming, un-named west coast conference had me thinking.

Is there still a market for wireless security training? Or has it jumped the shark and the market is exhausted?

I'm talking about the WEP/WPA cracking, detection, etc. There will always be a market for the late breaking stuff, but at what price?

I dunno if you've looked into the WiFu course at Offsec, but they offer that training for $350 online. At this point in the game, I like to think that most of the stuff you can learn about hacking wireless is available online for easy learning. I personally have learned everything I know about wireless hacking via internets, but there seems to be a large group still out there that can't quite grasp how to secure their wireless and why it's important and a large group of people who have difficulty finding or using the material online (even though it's in a very obvious place and easy to understand) I think people just like to have their hands held from time to time, even if it's something super simple like cracking WEP. Just lurk on the BT4 forums for a few days, you'll learn that fast.

tl;dr: the market is there for people who need hand holding, but I'm not sure how big the hand holding community is.

Just an addendum, I'm looking at this from the perspective of being the trainer, hence why I have no idea what the general knowledge level is (Well, I do, but I mean outside this community), and if people are still willing to pay for classes

go dirty..... beat the crap out of end users as the core of a class. None of the classes out there give that its proper due and next to no one out there actually validates certs :-)

...avoid the other stuff. I agree, for 350 bucks or a bit of time on google and all the basics are there....

I am going to be talking with folks at ShmooCon about resurrecting the Wireless Village and a big part of what I had planned was presentation and demonstrations on multiple things RF - traditional Wireless, Bluetooth and Ham Radio. Of course a large part of this will be short 30-minute sessions on activities such as cracking WEP/WPA as well as how to secure, to the extent possible, you home wireless networks.
