New Tattoo

Well wasn't planning on getting a Defcon tattoo or anything, just knew I wanted something geeky/techie. Was always a fan of the logo though cause of the old school design so...




Just thought I'd share. Wonder if they'll give me a free pass if I go back this year. :)

wow... now that's some commitment, really. my initial thought when seeing this was that you were a long-time Goon. just a general citizen? that should at least be a discount back to the classic $100 price.

So, classic Defcon is Defcon 14 or 15? What is older than classic? Ahh "Legacy" as in, "the legacy price" and before legacy? maybe prehistoric or ancient or fossilized? :-D

wow... awesome with the history lesson there, Cot. somehow i thought that the price had been $100 for much further back... almost for as long as i was attending back in the AP days. seems that's not the case at all. i cannot believe i only paid $50 the first time i was there. amazing.

Actually we stopped doing pre-reg after DC4 or 5.

This year the cost of DEF CON is US $50. The last three DEF CONs were $40, and this is the first price increase since then. You can pre-register before June 25th for the old price of $40. There are several reasons for the price change:

I never used pre-reg. The quotes on pre-reg prices I obtained from the announcements for each con presently online with defcon.org.

You were actually there, so it could easily be the case (as it has been with other updates in information) that the docs announced something at Defcon that was no longer supported. (This is how early Defcon conventions seemed to work, as plans were changed last-minute and previous announcements were negated or changed at the last minute.) At Defcon 5, I remember the line taking for ever, and comments about some people paying with checks, and people in line coughing *cough*"fed"*cough* when anyone was suspected as having a check, and one person working a cashbox selling badges. It might have even been Jeff working the cashbox, too.

As for the tatoo:
If I recall correctly, the three symbols were not always these 3. One of them changed, but I don't remember when or which one. I guess I'll have to look for this. [maybe it was a hand with all digits extended with an open palm? Don't remember]

Hehe...yah not a goon or anything, just a fan. Oh hey I remember you organized the shoot back at DC17. That was one of my favorite parts of that trip, some really cool people there.

No ink on me yet, but if I ever get the nerve and blood alcohol content, I'm sure it will be DC themed.

Speaking of art, what is the legal situation with the various artwork form DC shirts, logo's, etc? Is it possible to get the originals posted somewhere?

Oh hey I remember you organized the shoot back at DC17. That was one of my favorite parts of that trip, some really cool people there.
