I've had people ask me for pyro before (actually people who do pyro who wanted to do it during my set, whoa!) but I haven't looked into it.

Agreed on GreatScott's quote below, but of course completely curious if Rio would be willing to risk life and limb inside.

uhhh... if I'm REALLY digging the app then I'll look into it, but 95% chance of me getting a lot of resistance + a "no" from the hotel + other organizers on that. :/ Sorry, bud.

Hello Every one, I'm Cy-Fi. I realize I'm kind of a late arrival, but just saw the call for performers when we were booking our hotel for this year. For me this will be my first year at DefCon and I'm pretty excited about going.

A bit about me:
I mix Psy Goth: a combination of EBM, Dark Psy Trance, Industrial, & Full-On Psy. I use a Asus G73 with VDJ & a Hercules RMX.

Hey I was just reading this and saw that you guys are looking for more chill out/down tempo artists. I put in my application for Djing/Vjing Electro and House, but I would love to do some ambient, chill out music as well. Right now we are going and helping out with the Bro CTF competition. Bringing 4+ dj's, sound equipment, as well as Vj/Video equipment. But we are down for everything.

Cool. Definitely submit a second as a chillout DJ also - otherwise this will be overlooked. If you have a crew, also be sure to have them individually submit apps (unless you plan on tag-teaming/sharing a slot).

Hey lope -

Not exactly. My goal is to actually have a good mix of genres, but the genre will likely factor into my decision making for where people get placed in terms of set time.

That being said, as one might expect: the more popular genres yield more dj apps of that genre, which means that there will be some more competition for applicants of those genres to deal with.

So what's the most popular type of app? I'm not tellin, cos I don't want to discourage anyone from applying ;)

Is there a preference for the style/genre of music you are leaning towards, being that some of the musicians are already picked out? (ie Crystal Method / Mochipet) Like breaks vs techno vs dnb?
