    Since it looks like the neg9 "dc707" forum is gone (link we had for it no longer works) and the website for CK3K doesn't support it, I've changed the "fake forum" to no longer redirect to those locations, and made it a real forum with an active space for posting. This thread has been relocated to this now opened forum.

    If this is a dead group, check with the current DCG coordinator for all DCG to make sure nobody else is trying to organize/re-organize it, and claim it. They may have contacts from people that expressed prior interest.

    blakdayz (twitter) or blakdayz (forums) took over as DCG Coordinator for all DCG. If you have not checked out online info for these:
    * Point Of Contact : Starting a DCG = https://www.defcon.org/html/defcon-g...s-poc-faq.html
    * General FAQ for DCG : https://www.defcon.org/html/defcon-g...roups-faq.html
    * New Registration started by Blakdayz (google docs spreadsheet) : https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...BaX0E6MQ#gid=0 (If you do not believe me on use of this use of google docs, here is a citation with a tweet from the official @_defcon_ twitter feed: https://twitter.com/_defcon_/status/221102821888622595 )

    Good luck!

          Please give him (Blakdayz) a week. He was recently complaining about service interruptions, which may have prevented him from checking email, or made other things in the real world become more important. This is not an attempt to provide an excuse so much as it is a suggestion to be a little more patient with him as the service interruptions were beyond his control. Feel free to guess the causes, but it is up to him to disclose the causes if he wants. :-)

          If you don't hear from him by September 5, 2013, please let me or someone else that knows him know about this, and we can check to see if he is back online and/or let him know about this.

              Re: DC707 revival

              For what it's worth, you definitely dont have to be listed as the official POC on the website to get things back going. All you need is a group of people who wanna meet up.

              Flyer up the school, specifically the comp sci area, and you'll get a response. I remember the meetings happening in the library, one of those glass walled rooms on the second floor. Go hit up the oreilly meetings too, see if anyone there wants to meet up.
              Of course its fully cooked... we had it set on "linen".

                  Re: DC707 revival

                  We have an automated reply with a web address to enter your infoz in. If you did it there, it will push to the website soon. We pushed an update in early august, and have been dealing with international folks. I also got your message here, and you already included in the upcoming update. Feel free to ping me more than once. Also, check the DEFCON Groups Updates for info about whats going on (if you didn't get a reply and you sent during the two week of no power during the Hurricane, there may be a reason for that). Anyway, you will get updated, and feel free to post in the notifications area about response time.

                  Thanks, and happy Hacking!

                    Unable to start a new thread so adding here. Is DC707 active at all and if not anyone interested in getting this group going again?

                      Blakdayz is the central DCG coordinator for all DCG. He can add and remove DC from the official lists, and he also staffs the email contacts as the DCG coordinator and he is a DEF CON goon.

                      https://www.defcon.org/html/defcon-g...ups-index.html

                      The present DCG List shows that "DCG707" or "DC707" is listed, but the link to the web page is invalid. Additionally, the neg9 forum for DC707 was eliminated, so I mentioned above that I made this forum active, and disabled the redirect. There is every indication from online resources that DC707 is dead. Contact Blakdayz about starting a new one, and becoming the "PoC". You can also try PM-in previous users that have posted in this forum, to see if they are still around, but if the users are not active, they may not still use the email address they registered to use with the forums.

                      (The default for users of these forums that receive PM is to get an email that they have a new PM, but only one email until their next visit.)

                      All the above are suggestions. I have nothing to do with DCG or DCG coordination -- that is blakdayz territory. He is the authority on decisions about DCG.

                      HTH,

                        Once you figure out what you want to do, let me know. You can register for DC707, as I have tried to contact the POC with no result. I have set DC707 to inactive in our records, which take a few weeks to get updated on the site.

                        Good luck and happy hacking.

                          Re: DC707 revival

                          Having started DC707 with CK3K and being part of Neg9, I can confirm that the DC group that once was has dissolved as most members including myself have left the area. I cannot definitively say whether or not anybody has picked it up since then but it doesn't look like it; I'd say you're pretty safe to start it back up again.

                          I'm not sure where you are in 707, but we were anywhere between Petaluma and Windsor and used to meet at the Rohnert Park Round Table near Safeway. It worked well since all ages were welcome, but there was also beer.

                          PM me if you have any other questions and good luck!
                          Where's the dedication?

                            Wondering if anything is still happening? Is 707 active/revived? I live in Benicia, but that's kinda far trip for me to Santa Rosa, is there anything closer?
