I think the playing cards going with 21 with some key people on them could be really cool. It could also maybe be co-ordinated with some other events at the con (if Deviant Ollam and others) Don't mind.

The Defcon shoot shirt could have it printed with specific people, Maybe cards given away at the Forum Meet could refference the shoot on 1 side (as a nod to it) and have different people on the front. Maybe get long time events like Wall of Sheep in to it and have more cards with different images, Maybe High Wiz would be willing to tie it into Defcon 101, Maybe a goon card even.

It could be fun to see people working to get or trade for a full set.

Just something to think about.

I like the idea of a set. Maybe having a small handful printed for each unique aspect of con. Then giving them out randomly. Dc101. Defcon shoot. Toxic BBQ. Pre con. Goon. Talks workshops etc. it would obviously be a bit of work depending on number printed and art. Kind of help recognize everything in a certain way.

Reading the above link makes me think this sounds right up Lost's alley!

Even if this was done on a low budget (Not fancy custom made playing cards) nothing fancy just printed on inexpensive card stock, done right it could be a lot of fun.

If it was done on a very tiny basis using real custom printed card decks, It is interesting that if we only had the minimum amount of custom playing cards decks printed up made (50) with 52 cards in a deck it equals 2600.

2600 being such an interesting number.

Now if there were 52 unique cards each group involved could give out their 50 unique to their event cards to whomever they choose and the other groups give out theirs it would be interesting to see who could socially engineer getting a full deck.

It would probably not be very difficult getting some combination of groups willing to kick in and do this. We are not talking about big bucks if it is kept small or if we had more groups we could do more decks for a low budget. Just a thought.

I was about to post a reminder that the thread was for shirts, but it could go hand-in-hand, at least for this year to get them both up and running. I have no idea about card printing, but I can research and probably front some money for it as well as the shirts.

I am thinking a lot of the other events will be playing with the 21 blackjack theme I think we should try and come up with something totally different and unique. I love my DC19 TSA shoot shirt and get the best comments when I wear it.

How about something like a spoof on North Korea's nuclear testing Or the DC21 shoot site home of previous Nuclear testing.

Just trying to get the thoughts flowing again

The idea towards spoofing something about north korea would be neat to see some concepts on. Maybe something about we do our own testing out in the range, or w/e. The TSA was by far a great shirt not to say other years were not but people always ask me questions about it. And in terms of shirts im not sure who we went with to get those printed but the shirts were quiet comfy.

So much is going on right now. Dorner, North Korea, Asteroids, Meteors, Grumpy Cat,...things are whacky. There may be a more appropriate meme closer to Defcon.

the last thing this discussion needs is even more ideas being thrown out there... but i will say that if the topic of Drones came up (or shooting them down came up, heh) on a shirt, i'd dig that shit.

heh, resume your regularly-scheduled discussion. i'm sure we're likely to be experiencing those awful things in our own nation's skies more in the future, so that shirt concept isn't really going to spoil anytime soon. ;-)

I think Drones are a good take; possibly ASTcell's North Korea idea. We've got a lot of time to settle on an idea, so I figure the more concepts the better, since it might strike a nerve with somebody and get a really good idea going.

Perhaps something along the lines of a list of all the weapons we've used at the DC shoot from suppressed .22s to 40mm underbarrel, 50cal rifle to North Korea's 10kt bomb?

Syria/Iran/N.Korea axis of evil?

Kim Jong Ill, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, etc. at the DC shoot?

Drones as clay pigeons at the DC shoot?

I really like that idea. I might argue my 1911 is more evolved, but it is a really good concept. I feel a little bad about letting the significance of "21" pass us by, but this may be the best idea so far.
