Software defined radio has become quite popular with the advent of cheap USB DVB dongles, it really is impressive what one can do with a $20 dongle and a computer. Not everyone has a computer or wants to leave one in the target’s vicinity so they can monitor remotely. In most cases, rtl_sdr will work in some form or other on many many devices. We will go over what we got working on various mobile devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S4, HTC One, Nokia N900, Nexus 7 aka PwnPad, HP Touchpad, Raspberry Pi and almost any Android device released in the last 2 – 3 years running Android 3.1 and above. Use your mobile device as a base station and have rtl_tcp send the data to anywhere in the world. The rtl_sdr libraries can be used to decode pager signals, track LTE cells, track plane ADS-B transponders and much much more!
