"Our plan was to crowdsource a plan"

We know for sure that everyone that makes it past the first round will get an official deck of cards. That means 10 winners get these super rad cards for free! I mean, who wants to play with cards printed out from a PDF from the Internet? You want the real deal right?

What about 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in the final round? What should they get? To be frank, we have no freakin' idea! That's where you come in! What SHOULD be the big prizes? Should we source super hard to get passes to the hot party this year (no they do not do parties anymore, someone else's party!)? Is there a MUST HAVE hardware device we should get our hands on? Do you really just aspire to receiving a box of rabid mongooses?

Let us know your suggestions by responding to this thread!

I think there was a Conan O'Brien show with one prize being an "NPR Branded Gun Holster" -- that is full of all sorts of ... "wut."

A black tee shirt printed with the "best" combination of cards using during the contest. (There was a custom Tee Shirt printing solution in the vendor area 2 years ago with fast turn-around times.) You could pre-print your logo, and information about DEF CON 21 on one side, and comment about place in being winner, and the the other side available to just combine the "best" card combos, or several funny card combos used, with names of ranking/winning teams and place.

A Cash prize, but in a currency from a country like North Korea, which would be nearly worthless, and if it could be converted to "USD" (or other) they might feel a need to explain why they have currency from North Korea.

A very small "blood diamond" or "conflict diamond" from somewhere in Africa. Explain what it is. Will the winner accept it?

A gravestone that reads, "Winner!" or "Winning!" and the DOB / DOD being the dates of DEF CON 21 start and end and a comment about the contest. Skull and crossbones might be a good touch.

Record video of the game, and give the winner and only the winner a copy of the video and Copyright to it, and see if they choose to sell it or distribute it for free or keep it. (Humanity, Selfishness or Sharing? What will they choose?)

I'm not sure if this is a direction you were thinking about going. You probably want prizes people would want, more than those listed above.

    Hope this helps,
    Good luck!

Boy that escalated quickly! All great idea's, and I might be able to do something with that currency idea. I happen to have the "old" money from Afganistan (don't ask). Might be handy to offload some of it for this contest.

        Hookers
        Weed
        Blow

But yeah, more seriously, it would be helpful to know what kind of budget we are talking about. Possible suggestions, some more serious than others:
Ninja Party invite (if they are doing something this year)
Some other big party VIP list
Alcohol (should come with defcon shot/beer glass)
Defcon Black Badge/badge for next year
Teledonics sex toys (basically internet-connected sex toys)
        Strippers
        Porn
        Cash
        USB Flash Drives
        New Cell Phones
        New Computers
        Hard Drives

          • Black badge? Maybe someday.
          • Tickets to the vegas show of their choice? As long as that choice is Chippendales.
          • A Payphone? 50lb prizes are fun and only around $150 on ebay.
          • A geiger counter? Just in case notice of your imminent death interests you.
          • Fake google glasses? So you can get your ass kicked without actually needing to talk to the voice in/on your head.
          • Nothing? At the end of the game, reveal that the objective was actually NOT to win and give everyone else a prize.

The foreign currency thing might be seen as pyramid rip-off. Eh...

TheMaze - While our game in part makes fun of sexsim, misogyny and feminist, it is also good to point out that gender specific prizes are always a bad idea. Especially since we have a 40% sign-up rate so far of the XX gene persuasion.

Black Badge is not of interest for this contest. We did ask for one and, more importantly, never will. I cannot stress how terrible people are for wanting to play this game, and how we should probably be charged with crimes against humanity for hosting such an event. I award you no points, and may god have mercy on your sole.

Cash? What is this 1970? Give bitcoins/litecoins/other alt currency.

Or you could buy Zimbabwe $100,000,000,000,000 notes for like $2 usd a piece and give someone a quadrillion dollars or something.
