The Wireless Village will be returning again this year along with the Wireless Capture The Flag contest. The WCTF will be held in the Village area versus the contest area as we have for the past three years.

Looking forward to another great year of introducing new and exciting things in the RF world to Deacon attendee's.

Added new forum for Wireless Capture the Flag: https://forum.defcon.org/forum/defco...tf-wifi-ctf-aa

Not posted here. Last year, the FTC had a contest "Zapping Rachael" to make a contest out of finding ways to deal with telemarketers.

It looks like they will be returning: http://www.nextgov.com/emerging-tech...ontest/106941/

Forum created, with generic description: https://forum.defcon.org/forum/defco...allers-contest

    Description (generic) created:
Last year at DEF CON 22, "Zapping Rachael," was the contest. The FTC returns to host a new contest to stop robocallers.

    Forums all created.

We do not require organizers use forums for updates. We make them available so they can be used if desired by attendees, participants, organizers, and members. If you have a different location that you prefer people to use other than the forums, you or we can add a thread with a URL directing people to it.

Please let me know if name or contect of description should be changed for any of the above.

    Thanks!

Tonight, I will be adding the latest forums for those that have indicated the return of their contests/events since the last update.

NOTE: You should be able to contact contests@defcon.org if you are planning to run a contest or event this year. If you have questions about RFI, please contact them at that email address.

NOTE 2: If you have a *returning* contests/event or in some way, you have been contacted by email in previous years for running a contests/event, or your email was provided to previous department heads of Contests/Events, *please* check the account for same email address you have previously used, and LOOK IN YOUR SPAM FOLDER. Because of "reasons" many spam filters appear to be dropping mail from contests@defcon.org into a spam folder, or blocking them.

NOTE 3: I am *NOT* a contest/event goon! It is not my department. None of the information I provide is ever authoritative for Contests/Events. What I provide are suggestions based on past experience and the best info I can offer.

After I complete the addition of the last round of forums for those contests/events indicated as returning, I will be sending an email to all of you by your forum-registered email address to remind you to submit your information, and re-state all of the information in this post.

    Thanks!
    -Cot

FYI: the site for Beard and Moustache http://dcbmc.com/ appears to have the modern equivalent of Apache httpd "It Worked!". I deleted the first tweet that mentioned it, and created a new one that says site: TBA (maint)

Tweets sent out for both of these contests.

    Good luck!
