Is there an "official" irc chat room? I couldn't find anything on the defcon site, and I can't search the forums for "irc" due to minimum length restrictions (4 chars), so I'm finally asking here :)

i've gone into that chat room and I cant find anyone there every time I visit it. When are people in it?

you can /part out any time you like, but you can never leave

Make sure you are on EFnet and not Undernet or any other net. And you need the room name exactly as above, don't leave out the # or the dash.

And then once you are in the room you have to type:

"I'm a Duck! I'm a Duck! I'm a Duck!"

...in order to get the others to see you in the room. That's a secret password we only share with other cool people. Hey Blackwave I hope it's okay that I gave it out.

Sometimes theres no talking what so ever, but theres always people there.

Note that this is only the channel for the forums. If you want the "official" channel for Defcon, that would be #dc-stuff, also on EFnet, but that has degraded pretty badly over the years.
