        Canada has a relatively open refugee program. Who's thinking it's time to leave the US? Legislation like that would make for an interesting refugee claim up here. I have a few American friends who are already thinking of leaving via this route.

            I hear their refugee program is starting to get overloaded and they are having to turn away folks because of the flood of people of middle-eastern decent fleeing the states. (A story on it was on NPR last week)

            I have not ruled out the posibility if things get too damn bad here; but I think it would take a lot to get me to bail..

              Not this kid....don't get me wrong, I dig my northern brethren...but I like it just fine here in the U.S. I agree there are some issues that I would like to see handled differently..but as an American citizen that has both travelled and had the unfortunate experience of living in foreign countries...I will say flat out there ain't no place I'd rather be than right here!

                      The people are writing their representatives and demaning safety. If enough people hate what is going on, that is what a recall election is all about. However right now we have enough Chicken Littles to keep this wheel turning.

                        Very true... and the people whom stand to profit are the ones that keep the wheels oiled and the machine running. (Elected officials, etc)
