I wanted to know if someone else had stayed in San Remo in past years and what they thought. There are some cheap deals going round on www.vegas.com, but these reviews don't look so good. Besides the AP, what other hotels have people liked/not liked? Last year, my group stayed in a suite at the Embassy (kitty corner from the Hard Rock), and it was excellent. Of course, the course, the price probably isn't a one or two person thing.

CK and I stayed at the Amerisuites, it was a nice room, and everything went off without a hitch, I would stay there again this year but I want to be emerged in the con(AP). I would suggest this hotel to anyone.
*A note: Rumors are that Feds stay at the amerisuites....I can't confirm nor deny.Where's the dedication?

i stayed at "the tuscan" it was new, cheap (60 bucks a night or so) and HUGE. suite-style but one huge room seperated by the way the furniture was, the bathroom was gigantic.. only downfall was it SMELT new. but itw as good !really! stayed there for one night before checking into the alexis for the bulk of the con. will stay at the tuscan this year the whoel time, for sure. it's a full vegas-size block away from the con, but it's good to walk your alcohol off when the night is over. it's also not a casino so you can be 18 to get a room.http://www.dontvisit.com eat it like your mom

Rooms
I have stayed at The Keylargo Inn, it was nice and cheap. Also they give you some tickets for free/cheap stuff. At the Daysinn it was kinda crappy. Has the built in the 70's feel . I spent a few days at the marriott homestyle something. It was really nice, with full size fridge and dishwasher. And I stayed at the emmbassy suites . It was a nice room but its kinda high cost.mage2atbleedingwounddotcom

I stayed at the "Tuscany" too. It was cheap but Im checking rates now and they seem to be at around $89 - $120 / night
I belive Best Western purchased it so it is the "Best Western Tuscany"
They were building a casnio there last year (did you notice the construction in the middle parking area? So they have upped the minimum age to 21.
I didnt mind the walk from Tuscany to the AP, it was about 2 large blocks away (cut through the apatments behind the hotel then dash across Harmon)

I went to black hat last year and stayed in vegas the whole week. so I stayed at the luxor - it was the cheapest place on the strip... the room was expensive - like 139 on the weekends but during the week it was like only 59 some days.
if you are staying the entire week the variable rate is something to keep in mind.
plus the GF was with me so i kept her far from the con and guaranteed that she wouldn't get bored and show up there - she'd have to walk all the way there :)Gack

I also stayed at the Luxor last year - in the pyramid nonetheless - and while I saved about $100 over what I would have paid by staying in the Alexis I spent about $150 in cab fare running around Vegas when all was said and done. This year I'm doing two things differently.
[one] I'm staying in immedeate stumbling distance from the Alexis. If you stay on a strip hotel and have to pay $10 each way for cab fare you'll notice [As I did] that the fat chunk of change you saved on your room gets eaten up by cab fare really fucking quick.
[two] I'm having my girlfriend [who doesn't drink] bring her car to haul her and I around Vegas. It's nothing to her to haul my inebreated ass around, she's done it before.
Your mileage may vary, but it's something to keep in mind.boogah
