303 is proud to once again present Skytalks at DEF CON 24!

More than "just another track", Skytalks is often referred to as a "con within the con" and features a less traditional approach to talks. No press or recording devices are allowed, and speakers are presenting off the record. This provides a venue for more cutting edge talks, research and ideas that are still being fleshed out, calling vendors out in the most awesome/heinous ways, and 'alternative' tracks that are truly fascinating, but just outside the scope of DEF CON. Skytalks welcomes a variety of topics ranging from hard research and open panel discussions, to fringe theories and topics "too hot" for the main stage.

Skytalks has played host to some notable speakers including Chris Nickerson, Alex Louis Movitz, Smitty Halibut, evilunixgirl, Chris Roberts, Jericho, and Renderman just to name a few. We accept stand-alone submissions to our CFP as well as picking up interesting talks that the DEF CON CFP panel passed on for various reasons. This year, we are looking to focus on the Internet of Things (with a decided slant toward reality), practical personal privacy, blue talks that might actuall see production networks, and the best / worst fringe talk that has a mix of technology, sociology, and unicorns.

We'll also be featuring the return of the Old-school Panel to regale us with stories of the past and advice for getting off their lawns (you have it so easy n00bz!) The Skytalks CFP will open soon, and there are a limited number of spots. Submit early, submit often, but use spell check and make sure your topic has meat. Skytalks is an equal opportunity organization; give us a chance to impress and mock you like the rest of the world.
