Badges for DEF CON may be purchased at the Ticket Sales windows at the Caesars Forum (note that Caesars Forum is a different venue than Caesars Palace) beginning on Thursday, August 11 at 7am Pacific Time, they are not sold on-site at Black Hat.

one of my battery mounts was cold-soldered and snapped off. So I found the nearest super-glue retailer and did a quick repair. I also found that if I jumpered pin 1 of J1 to either of pins 2,6,8, or 10 I could effectively clear two days worth of Con activity. Now to regain that activity, plus some with the source code from the

update: jacked in via serial, found that my pulsing code might be a diag had sequence in relation to my radio being damaged. once consoled in, we found my badge would register flags, but not retain them. So radio may or may not be a culprit, as send receive was logged but not stored. Friendly goon recommended radio repair at hardware hack village. not opposed. but tbh, many badges day 3 are exhibiting these same symptoms. perhaps the circuitry was damaged by unprotected lanyard action, or this is all game. when I scanned, I logged as human no points. no flags will stick. not rick'd at all. :(

If you have a magic token (keep switching classes), to reset to human try syncing with a human or remove the battery and replace. I removed my wife's battery last night and she is back to human 100% today (no, she is not a robot ). I took mine out for the night too because when at 100% the lights constantly blink so not sure what this means for sleep mode and battery drain.

I don't think that's true. I hit 100% today human and definitely scanned a goons badge. I believe my wife hit 100 human too but she has the magic token and now says she is Village about 24%. I'm looking for 9 more 100% ers to try group syncing with.

Hey, before the badge talk this morning, some guy mentioned that pairing a human badge with a goon badge will reset the state back to the original. I told him I thought it was doodoo. Anybody else hear that or know anything about it?

If we wear the badge on our wrist, we can sync during a simple handshake rather than leaning in like we are going to kiss

This is community driven. Use the stickers that came with your badge to help others identify what your badge is from a distance. Sync with all different badge types. Good luck

Z3ro@rmy please let me know if you read/write to the badge.

Me and my mate think we're onto something. The Defcon symbols (floppy, rottary dial, keyhole, jolly Rodger) are on the back of the badge. In a nautical, North is jolly, West is rottary, south is key, east is floppy. Perhaps badge pairing at each of these villages is a clue.

We also noted the unique symbols each lanyard has and the theory of pairing with those like lanyard carriers.

We ran into the blues, the pinks, and the one black badge carrier.

Also, we are looking into connecting to the device via UART to reach the console interface.

Any other info or tips are well received. Also, if your LFG, we're 2 and down to clan up.
