The contest will consist of a web site introducing participants to fox hunting, how to do it at home, and how to hunt a local signal in their area.

As this will be totally self-driven, and requires individuals to hunt for the source of local transmissions, I don't expect there to be more than a few dozen participants - but that's okay.

I can make myself available live during DC28 Virtual for those who want to ask questions or share their local hunts.

For anyone who participates, even unsuccessfully, I'll provide a small prize at my expense (a patch or set of decals or something like that). I'll assume those that participate are doing so because they want to learn the basics of fox hunting, and not just because they want another sticker or prize.

I'm interested. Also willing/able to help behind the scenes. Really interested to learn effective transmission hunting. Thx

Hi everyone - I'm running this small contest, as I've done the past couple of years.
I'll have a website up and running explaining the contest and how to hunt.

Just remember: this is one of those types of contests where no one wins (or loses). You're doing this to learn something and have fun.

This contest will be best run by you if you have a partner - one person to go take off somewhere and occasionally transmit on a pre-discussed frequency, and you who will need to find them.

        More details to come!

We set up a fox hunt for ARRL Field Day this year. I'll try to participate in one of these over the weekend. 1st time checking out DEF Con
