Do we have a more detailed location? Which conference area will be the main one? Both Bally's and Paris as last time?

We have not finalized when we will start doing badge pick up. Usually it starts early Thursday.

OK, say a human purchases a DC badge through Black Hat in-person registration but later decides delta variant numbers in Vegas too much for someone with health concerns... can he/she/they still obtain/swap for all-access virtual badge? And if so, how would that work?! TKS

Because you purchased a badge through BlackHat, you could check to see if they can get you a refund and then sell you a virtual badge.

I don't think "we" (people at DEF CON) have access to the purchases made through BlackHat.

If BlackHat doesn't have any kind of exchange for a virtual badge, then the next option might be to get a refund for the in-person Badge through BlackHat (wherever you purchased your DEF CON badge) then buy a virtual (not in-person) badge from the https://shop.defcon.org/ website.
There are problems with this, as it is close enough to DEF CON that there is significant risk you probably would not get a virtual badge before DEF CON. This risk is substantially greater in remote places in the US, or outside the US.

Contact BlackHat (or wherever you purchased your badge for DEF CON) to see if they can provide you with a virtual badge instead, and what options they have available for you.

Similar question, but I purchased in-person badge through website and wonder if possible to swap to online-only badge?

As of July 13, 2021, when I visit https://shop.defcon.org/ I see this text under the in-person badge purchase: "DEF CON 29 in-person badge return window has closed (July 5th)"

Then under in-person badge description ( https://shop.defcon.org/products/def-con-29 ) there is this text (as of July 13, 2021)
"If you initiate a refund, before July 5th, the processing fee of $19.40 + $45.00 will be subtracted from your refund. "

I can cite text from https://shop.defcon.org/ but I am not authoritative for any offers or claims for service from https://shop.defcon.org/ . If you want an authoritative answer about exchanging your in-person badge for a virtual, contact shop@defcon.org to find out if any options are available.

There are almost certainly deadlines with any options, and some may have passed. Contact shop@defcon.org sooner rather than later, or risk options you have today, will not be available at "some future tomorrow."

      Good luck!

If a talk says that "Speaker(s) will be at DEF CON!"; does that mean that the speakers will be presenting their talk in person? or will we have to watch their talk on Discord?

For main DEF CON speaker tracks, content from regular presentations is supposed to be made available online in parallel with main speaker-track presentations.

For cases where a live presentation is something like an Interview, or a panel commentary, etc., those styles of "talks" on the main speaker tracks might be recorded on stage, then made available "at some future date." (guessing. If someone from speaker ops, or Jeff, or another goon/staff has a more up-to-date answer, accept that instead of this.)

For cases where a talk is taking place in a village or outside of the main speaker tracks, selection to make live content available to people in DEF CON Discord or otherwise is a question likely best answered by the people running the village or presentation you have an interest in seeing.
